GENERAL UPDATES
A great crowd of Bective supporters travelled north for the All-Ireland Jnr Final in Dundalk RFC last Saturday. It wasn’t to be for Bective, as we lost out to the better side on the day. Running into the headwind that was Ballyclare RFC right from the off, nothing went right for Bective, while starting without key players through injury, not helping matters either. The players gave it their all and still put in a huge shift. Nonetheless, we had no excuses and all credit to Ballyclare who played some scintillating rugby and fully deserved their victory. That said, congratulations to all the players and the coaching staff for their achievement on reaching the Final.
Final Score: Ballyclare 48 – Bective 8
While we were away in Dundalk, some good news on the home front as League leaders Seapoint slipped up by only drawing their match against Wicklow, which has opened the door wider now for Bective to retain the League title. Also our U’13 XV have qualified for the semi-final of the Cup after a fantastic win by 22 – 19 over St Marys and the 3XV had a great victory over Emerald Warriors.
Next SUNDAY 4th February the 1XV play our delayed league match against Gorey in Donnybrook at 3pm. Please note although this is a Sunday game, there will be a Pre Match Lunch. It will be another massive game for the players, so it is important that we all show the team our support. Why not come down to the club, book into the lunch and watch the game afterwards?

Results:
U6/U7 - AWAY Malahide - Our youngest group played really well in their away fixture in Malahide.
U10 - HOME Lansdowne - The U10 group continue to improve and get great results competing well against their latest opposition.
U11 - HOME Seapoint - Paul Hatton's U11 group once again competed against Seapoint winning all their matches.
U13 - HOME St. Mary's - The U13's were in League action at the weekend with a superb win to book a semi final spot versus Blackrock

On the evening of Saturday 20th the clubhouse packed to capacity with 150 parents sitting down to a fabulous meal, followed by entertainment with The Runaways band for the yearly Mini's ball. A massive thank you to the Club President Mick and his wife Maria for attending with all the parents of the mini section. A great night was had by all who attended.
Ladies Lunch
The Ladies Lunch is on Sat 9th March 2024 at 2.30pm in the Clubhouse, Donnybrook in aid of Ronald McDonald House, Children's Health Ireland, Crumlin.
Tickets are €60 each and include a prosecco reception, lunch, raffle & DJ.

13th Annual Memorial Walk
The 13th Annual Memorial Walk on the Wild Mountain Side led by Robert Cuddy & Pat McKeown took place last Sunday last Sunday in aid of Pieta with the walkers raising €450 for this very important charity.
