The Future of Bective
Weekly Newsletter (3 - 9 Apr)
General Updates
It was a wet Saturday morning as all of Bective headed over to Coolmine RFC overlooking the leafy Tolka Valley for the AIL Semi-Final, optimistic that it was going to be our turn again this year to challenge for a shot at going senior. The supporters bus was full leaving Bective and a massive crowd, including our flag waving Mini’s were already at the ground to cheer on Bective in the first of the semi-finals. Incredibly, the rain eased off before the kick off and the game was played in pleasant weather on a good pitch.
It was not to be Bective’s day as the Ulster champions Clogher Valley produced a fine display of counter attacking rugby to win the AIL play off semi-final.
The Club should be very proud of the effort that Colin and the squad have put in this season winning back to back Leinster leagues and qualifying again for the play offs. They have given the Club great days to treasure. The Club also want to thank Bernard and all his coaching team, Hein, Louis Jnr, Danny, Keelan, Steve (Rats), Manuel and Ben, not to forget Rory and Chuck on Bective TV , also Emmett for all their hard work. To all the supporters and club members who supported the team throughout the season, a big thank you! To everyone doing all the heavy lifting in the background, the Club Executive, volunteers and our staff, a big thank you also.

Dear Member, Past Member, Bective Supporter, Friends and Parents of Players,
We are delighted to invite you to the “Harvest Event” which is the next step for the Club in the planning for “The Future of Bective”.
As you know, Bective held an event in the Pavilion called the “Seeding Event” last October. The purpose of the event was to reach out to our membership, alumni, family, friends and supporters of Bective, to help plan “The Future of Bective”. The event was a great success with over one hundred and thirty (130) attending the evening and generating a wealth of ideas for the Future of Bective.
From the Seeding Event, six Working Groups were established and they have been working away with their facilitators on the following projects since October:
Rugby Ambition
Brand and Identity
Clubhouse
Community
Governance
Sponsorship
At the Harvest Event the Working Groups will share results of their work over the last six months and we will have an opportunity as the Bective Community to discuss these results. We hope this will inspire Bective with new energy and ideas for the future and drive the Club on to continued success on and off the field.
We would welcome your attendance and support for the Harvest Event. In particular, we would like to show our appreciation for all the volunteers who have done trojan work over the last six months to lay a solid foundation for the Future of Bective.
We would be grateful if you could register for the event by clicking on this link.
We look forward to seeing you at the Harvest Event.
