General Updates
Bective U17’s went down fighting in a 8 try thriller at sunny Donnybrook last Sunday in the Semi-Final of the Metro Cup. The team lost out to a very strong Greystones side 46 -33. Nonetheless, a fantastic season after the League Final win a few weeks ago. Congratulations to Kieran Walsh and Tony O’Brien and all the players for an amazingly successful season.
Bective 3XV take their place on the hallowed front pitch in Donnybrook this Friday night hoping to create their own piece of Bective history when they take on St. Mary’s in the O’Connor Cup Final. It promises to be a great evening so don’t miss it, kick off 8pm.
Head Coach Shane Comer commenting on the final says:
”It all comes down to this. We have had a brilliant rivalry over the last two years with St. Mary’s and somehow, we knew it would all come down to us, the last two standing, fighting it out for silverware.
The chance at lifting the trophy, not something that comes around every day. The 3XV are ready for it, to face this task head on, to wear the famous Bective jersey proudly into battle.
The 3XV are asking all Bective members and supporters to come along to Donnybrook on Friday night and cheer on the players. They are one game from glory, they are ready”.

You must be a paid up member of Bective Rangers FC and have an official GUI in order to win the Barniville Cup.

Mini’s & Youths
U10 AVIVA BLITZ
Results:
U15 - HOME - St. Mary's - Friday night saw the U15's win against St. Mary's. There was a big squad available to Marcus with some of the players returning to play in the Bective colours post JCT cup squads.
U6/U7 - HOME BLITZ - Great day for all the kids involved. There were huge numbers involved across the 3 clubs - Bective, Clontarf and Westmantown. Following some great rugby all the clubs came back to the clubhouse for treats. Congratulations to Justin White and his coaching team.
U9 - AWAY - Dundalk - The U9's enjoyed a trip up to Dundalk. Having competed really well in their match they went off on an activity to Carlingford where they took part in foot golf and archery. Congratulations to Tommy Sheehy and his coaching group for organising a very successful trip.
U9 DUNDALK
U10 - AWAY - Aviva Blitz - The U10's were chosen to take part in the IRFU National Blitz in the Aviva. They played brilliant rugby, and everyone had a super day out. Congratulations to Colin Gaffney, Simon Leonard, all the coaching team and especially the players who represented the club superbly.
U11 - HOME/AWAY - The U11's were split this week with 2 teams playing at home to Malahide and 2 teams travelling to Blackrock. As always, they competed really well winning the majority of their matches.
U12 - TOUR - The U12's travelled west on Saturday to play against Corinthians and Carrick on Shannon. With only 23 players they played 3 matches (60 mins) of rugby in the heat with no subs. They did remarkably well winning 5 out of the 6 matches. There was a trip to the Connacht v Zebre match that evening and an activity on Sunday. A great weekend was had by all.
U12 TOUR

Bective Men’s shed
For some time a Bective men’s shed has been discussed and now as we have a pavilion to be proud of we are going ahead with the idea. It is for those retired members who can give an hour or two on a Thursday to devote to maintenance and development of our premises and for a meet up for tea/coffee. We would be keen to develop the rear of the pavilion so that it can be used during the summer months for outside eating / drinking. Men’s shed takes place on Thursdays at 12.
