Founded in 1881 Bective Rangers Football Club is one of the oldest rugby clubs in Ireland. We are a Club which is steeped in history and is renowned for its warmth and hospitality. The Role:
Bective Rangers Football Club are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head Coach to lead our 1st & 2nd XV squad. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of coaching and managing the senior teams, working closely with the Club Executive and other coaches to ensure the continued success of the Club.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the 1st and 2nd XV squad, integrating and managing the top 40+ players.
Work collaboratively with the Club Executive regarding the recruitment of coaches, managers, and other staff.
Develop and implement the overall season plan, including game plans, training plans, and individual training sessions.
Lead player selection while liaising closely with other Coaches.
Manage overlaps between the 1st XV and 2nd XV squads, mediating any issues and ensuring a smooth transition between teams.
Regularly scout and watch 2nd XV matches to stay informed about player performance.
Collaborate with the other Coaches to confirm and agree on training sessions.
Foster a cohesive environment, promoting similar game plans, calls, and cordiality between the 1st XV and 2nd XV teams.
Maintain direct communication with all the Coaches, managers, physiotherapist, medical staff, strength and conditioning coaches, fixtures secretary, video analyst, and other relevant personnel.
Assist in player recruitment, working alongside Management and existing players.
Build strong relationships with players, ensuring individual concerns are addressed and providing feedback and advice.
Liaise with the Under 20's management regarding game plans, plays, player overlap, and watch a reasonable number of matches.
Maintain player and team statistics for analysis and improvement.
Manage the senior squad's financial budget in conjunction with Club Executive Members.
Facilitate communication with opposition teams regarding video swapping and information sharing.
Maintain clear communication with all the Coach to ensure consistency of approach.
Play a key role in supporting player development, with a particular focus on younger players.
Person Specification:
Proven experience as a Head Coach or similar role at a competitive level.
Excellent coaching qualifications (e.g., IRFU Level 3 Coaching Award or equivalent).
A strong understanding of modern rugby union playing styles and tactics.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
The ability to build strong relationships with players, coaches, and other stakeholders.
Man-management skills to motivate and inspire a high-performance squad.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
A strong work ethic and a commitment to continuous improvement.
