Bective’s only match last weekend was the 2XV loss in the first round of the Metropolitan Cup on Thursday night in Donnybrook. Suttonians unfortunately turned up with a very strong XV, most likely preparing for the 1XV match this Saturday.

Just a reminder that the 3 big Club social events in the coming weeks are the Ladies Lunch (Sat 25 Feb), Club Annual Dinner (Fri 3 Mar) & Mini’s Black Tie Ball (Sat 25 Mar)

Corporate Lunch

The club was a hive of activity last Saturday morning with our team of Declan Lawler, Valerie Stein, Mark O’Brien, Sharon and the catering staff preparing and putting the final touches to the Pavilion for the 169 guests attending the Ireland v France Corporate Pre Match Lunch.
The event was a huge success and the hall looked splendid with Irish and French flags hanging from the rafters. President David O‘Donnell thanked all the sponsor’s for their generous support and confirmed how important their contribution is to the running of the club. Guest speakers included Irish front row legend Mike Ross and from the famous French rugby family, player Nicolas Spanghero, who entertained the audience, prompted by our own fantastic MC John Breslin.

Mini's

U6/7’s played Old Wesley on the main pitch. With another match under their belts, they continue to improve.
U9’s played away to Malahide. They are a super group and competed very well against a tough Malahide group.
U11’s played under lights on Friday night against St. Mary’s. The first two games were draws and Bective won one and lost one in the second round of matches.

Ladies Lunch

The Ladies Lunch is on Sat 25th February 2023 @ 2.30pm in the Clubhouse, Donnybrook in aid of The Alzheimer Society of Ireland.

Tickets are €60pp and include a prosecco reception, lunch & entertainment.
