Bective mourns the passing of Paul Regan

Dear Bective Friends,

The Club has suffered a big personal loss with the sudden but peaceful death of Paul (Squirrel) Regan who died on Sunday, at his home.

Squirrel joined Bective in the early ‘70s and from the get-go was fully involved. He played at J3 level as hooker, but his forte was when he accepted the position of Joint Hon Treasurer. During the following decades he was Hon Treasurer and for many of those years when not doing that, he prepared the annual accounts to be passed on to the Club auditors.

When help was needed on the financial side Squirrel always stepped up.
He was awarded Club Person of the Year in 2019 and again last year in 2022.
Squirrel was known to all the Club members and enjoyed the company of everyone in Bective and would have been known for his dry sense of humour.
Lunch times on Thursdays won't be the same in Donnybrook without him.
He will be particularly missed by his fellow Dollies.
It was good to have known him.  May he rest in Peace.

Reposing at Paul’s sister’s home, 30 Mather Rd, Mount Merrion Friday 17th Feb from 5pm to 7pm.
Funeral Mass Saturday 11 am, Church of St. Therese, Mount Merrion followed by Removal to Mount Jerome Crematorium.

May He Rest In Peace.
