Bective mourns the loss of James Lawler
Bective Rangers FC regrets to announce the death of Jim Lawler who passed away on 24 Sep after a short illness.
Jim played senior rugby for the club from the early 1970s to the early 1980s and will be remembered for his prowess as a powerful prop forward as well as for his popularity off the field, where he embellished many occasions with his good humour, laughter and full-hearted participation. He lived life to the full and along with his brother John continued the strong connections between Bective and Dunlavin, which included his father Paddy who won six Irish caps in the 1930s.
