Bective mourns passing of James Baker

Dear Members

It is with sadness that I am writing to let you know of the passing of Jimmy Baker earlier this morning.(September 3rd)

Jim was one of 5 children of Milo and Nessa Baker of Bakers Corner fame (origional). When Bakers Corner was sold - Jim set about a new venture in Dalkey, The Arches Pub, top of Dalkey town. Jim joined Bective in the early 70s, a flanker of great repute. Jim married Rhea Mc Evoy late 70s early 80s.

Jim was a member of a fledgling group made up of Kieran Murphy, Pat Gilmartin, A J O'Rahilly, Peter Cleary, Frank Smyth, Leonard Healy and a number of lads from Greystones, later known / morph as the DOLLIES. Jim had great tragedy in life with the deaths of his wife and later a daughter. His sister Mary and brother Dermot also pre deceased him. Jim never let lifes woes pull him down, always in good mood keeping the best side out. One that you would go to war with. Ar Dheis Dè go raibh a anam.
