1XV NEXT FIXTURE
ASHBOURNE VS BECTIVE
SAT 19 OCT | MILLTOWN HOUSE | LEINSTER LEAGUE 1A
1XV KO: 3:00PM | 2XV KO: 1:30PM
GENERAL UPDATES
The 1XV followed up their recent success over Co. Carlow with the bonus point home win over their neighbours Athy in a tough Leinster League Div 1A Round 3 game in Donnybrook. Starting without a number of key players, Bective had to withstand a late rally from a dogged Athy to run out deserved winners on the day. The squad now head out on a vital four-match run, which includes the All-Ireland Jnr. Cup 1st round match away to Mallow on Sat week, then it’s the back to back league matches home and away against the league front runners Suttonians and Seapoint. It is vital that everyone gets behind the team, Capt. Tiarnan, Coach Ben and all the squad and show them your support up in Ashbourne on Saturday.
Always remember your support is key to the team’s success.
Final Score: Bective 29 - Athy 24
Bective earned a win, Athy show their character…
Results:
Leinster Seconds League (J2) DIV 1A
2nd XV: Bective 28 - Athy 52
Unfortunately, this was always going to be a tough ask on the team given the loss of key players to the 1XV. That said, the scoreline did not reflect the efforts of the Bective players on the day.
Metro League Div 8
3rd XV: Terenure 0 - Bective 33
Not too often do we see a scoreline to top this one, especially away from home. Well done to all the squad on a great performance.
Metro League Div 11
4th XV: Bective 20 - St Mary’s 24
Bective unlucky to lose this one by just the odd score.
JP Fanagan League Prem 3
Under 20’s XV: Fingal (Skerries & Balbriggan) 49 – Bective 7
A tough opening game for the lads as the U20’s kicked off their campaign. Nonetheless, it’s early days and there will be better days ahead.
