General Updates
The 3XV’s were hoping to close out the season with a win to savour. Unfortunately, it was not to be as Stephen Fox’s charges lost out to St. Mary’s in the O’Connor Cup Final last Fri night in Donnybrook. In a real cup match, with no quarter given by either side and the result closer than the score suggests, the Bective players gave their all and went down fighting by 19 -12 pts. Great season nonetheless, well done and hard luck to Shane Comer, Col Bathe, Stephen Fox and all the 3XV squad on reaching the final.

A feature of the evening was the streaming of the last match of the season live on Bective TV. A big thank you to our production team of Rory O’Connor, Louis Manahan and commentator Simon ‘Chuck’ Byrne, back up commentators Maeliosa Power and Brian Shalloe for streaming the games live throughout 2023/24 and we look forward to seeing and hearing from the lads again in September. On behalf of everybody at Bective take a bow lads, great work.

Friday 26th
U11 HOME - Clontarf - Once again the U11's teams competed really well against tough opposition.
U15 AWAY - Clontarf - The U15's had a super win against very tough opposition away in Clontarf. Having gone down to an early try in the opening minutes they fought back to win the encounter 34-33. Congratulations to Marcus Kennedy and his team.
U9 vs DLSP
Sunday 28th
U9 HOME - Blitz versus Coolmine and DLSP - The U9's continue to improve under the guidance of head coach Tommy Sheehy and competed superbly against Coolmine & DLSP.
U12 AWAY - Greystones - The U12's played away in Dr. Hickey park on Sunday and battled hard against tough Greystones teams winning 2, drawing 1 and losing 1.
U13 with Will Connors
The U13's had a special tackling workshop on Sunday with Leinster star Will Connors. Big thanks to Will Connors for coming down and Mike Ross who is currently helping out with the U13's.

Bective Men’s shed
For some time a ‘Bective Men’s Shed’ has been discussed and now as we have a pavilion to be proud of we are going ahead with the idea. It is for those retired members who can give an hour or two on a Thursday to devote to maintenance and development of our premises and for a meet up for tea/coffee. We would be keen to develop the rear of the pavilion so that it can be used during the summer months for outside eating / drinking. ‘Men’s Shed’ takes place on Thursdays at 12 noon.
