U13’s Win League Final

Hello Rangers,
Pride of place this week at the club goes to our Bective Rangers FC U13’s.
The U13’s completed the first part of their double last Sunday.
The players, ably led by Capt. Jooles White, produced a commanding performance by defeating Terenure RFC by 50-33 in the League Final at DLSP on Sunday.Make no mistake, the Terenure team were up for the challenge on the day but all credit is due to all the players and coaches, especially head coach Marcus Kennedy and Richie Maybury for their achievement.
So the U13’s now move on to create their own piece of Bective history in the Cup Final vs Blackrock RFC in Donnybrook this Sunday at 12 noon.
I would urge all members to come to Bective on Sunday and support the U13’s in their quest for glory.

Junior Rugby
The Bective 3XV also had a notable win in the Quarter Final of the Madden Cup over the BGF Ravens RFC by 11-10 last Saturday at Mount Temple.
Well done to the players, Capt. Conor Cummiskey, coaches Ross Jones, Col Bathe & Gavin Walsh.
In a very physical game, Bective pulled away early for a try but found thee BGF Ravens were not going to lie down, with just a score between the teams at half time.
The BGF Ravens went ahead in the second half with an early try but 2 great penalties from Rory O’Brien edged Bective back in front and with some great tackling and typical Rangers back to the wall attitude, Bective held on to go forward to the semi final which is to be played next Tuesday in Donnybrook versus Garda RFC at 8pm.

This match between Bective and Greystones is being played for the Kieron Murphy Cup.
The trophy started its life in 1997 by Louis Magee and Joey McGettigan (Greystones RFC)
Kieron (Murphy) was a member of both clubs and not only played for Bective but served on our Executive also. It is hard to believe that was 25 years ago.
Kieron’s wife, Elva Murphy, is unable to make the match but sends on her best wishes to Bective.

Bective Golf Society
We are delighted to announce the first outing of the Bective Rangers Golf Society which will be the Barniville Cup!
This will take place on Friday the 6th of May in Woodbrook Golf Club, with tee times from 11am to 2:30pm and a meal afterwards.
If you wish to compete for the Barniville Cup you must be a paid up member of Bective Rangers FC however other prizes are available on the day.
