We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Ben Manion as our new Head Coach.
Ben brings a wealth of experience to Bective Rangers, with a proven track record.
Meet the Coach
The club are holding an informal meet and greet with Ben at the club on Tuesday, 21st May from 7pm to 9pm. Why not come along and extend a big Bective welcome to Ben and have a burger and a beer ?
Also joining Ben on the coaching team, the club are delighted to announce the appointment of Peter O'Donnell as our new Forwards Coach.
Peter brings a wealth of experience to the role, having coached at various levels throughout his career. He is passionate about effective processes and achieving results, and his coaching philosophy aligns perfectly with our club's vision.

The Club is thrilled to announce the appointment of Rory O'Loughlin as our new Backs Coach!
Rory is a true Bective Rangers man, beginning his rugby with the Bective Mini’s and following in the footsteps of his father, Mick O'Loughlin. This is a proud day for both Rory and his family, and we at Bective Rangers are delighted to welcome him back .
Rory recently retired from a stellar professional rugby career with The Exeter Chiefs – with 24 Exeter Chiefs caps.
He also boasts an impressive international record, having earned:
• Winners medal, St Michaels College, Leinster Schools Senior Cup 2012 success, taking the trophy to Aylesbury Road for only the second time in the school’s history.
• 99 caps for Leinster, contributing to their phenomenal group success of 4 league titles and a European trophy in 2018.
• Selection for the Irish 7s International team in 2015.
• A coveted cap for Ireland against Japan in 2017.
Adding to his impressive rugby achievements, Rory is a graduate of University College Dublin with a degree in Business and Law.
Now starting to settle back home in Ireland, Rory is excited to focus on his coaching career while pushing forward in the business world.
We are confident that his experience, dedication, and passion for the game will be invaluable assets to our Bective team and Club.

On behalf of all the members of Bective the club would like to acknowledge the massive contribution that our outgoing coaching team of Bernard Jackman, Danie Poolman, Louis Magee and Hein Havenga have made to Bective over the last 3 seasons and in the process lifting the fortunes of the club both on and off the pitch. Leading the squad to two Leinster League Div 1A successes and three Leinster 2nd League titles, the Round Robin AIL play off Semi’s and Final, plus an All-Ireland Jnr. Cup Final, which says everything about their fantastic commitment and dedication. Thank you, gentlemen, for your contribution to Bective.

Following our Seeding and Harvesting events and valued input from our members across the club, we are excited to launch our Bective Rangers Strategic Plan 2023-2028 on Wednesday 5th June in our clubhouse in Donnybrook.
Join us to acknowledge everything that has been happening in the club, to share Bective’s vision for the future and to keep moving Bective forward!

U15s vs Lansdowne
U12s vs Lansdowne
Results:
Friday 10th
U11's - Played Blackrock at home on the back pitch with each team playing 3 matches. Bective competed superbly winning the majority of the matches played.
U13's - Played a challenge match against Blackrock on the main pitch in an enthralling match. With Blackrock ahead 34 - 29 and only minutes to play Bective scored a try with the last play and it was superbly converted by Harry Lane to win 36 - 34.
Sunday 12th
U6/U7/U8 - The youngest groups travelled away to Westmanstown on Sunday. They played really well representing the Bective badge superbly. After their matches they all went to Fort Lucan for an afternoon of activities and fun.
U12's - Played against Lansdowne in a 15 aside training match. In only their second 15 aside match Bective played superbly only to be pipped in the last minute by an intercept try. Final score was 15 - 10.
U15's - Played at home on the main pitch against a very tough Lansdowne outfit. Bective fought hard but were well beaten in the end. Final score 43 -17.
U8s vs Westmanstown

U12/U13 - Challenge match - Main Pitch 6-7:15pm

U13's HOME DLSP - Dave Walsh Memorial Trophy. Kick off 12pm (Back Pitch).
U15's HOME TBC- Kick Off 11:45am (Front Pitch).
The Official End Of Season Day will take place on Sunday 19th May 9am - 12:30pm.
Leinster Juniors
Well done to Bective's Ger Warde on his recent selection and performances for the Leinster Juniors.
Leinster played in the Interprovincial competition over the last number of weeks beating Connacht, drawing against Munster and just losing out against Ulster.
Summer Concert
Bective Rangers Rugby Club, Donnybrook, Dublin 4 - Wednesday 22 May 2024 - 8pm
Glenamuck District Roads Scheme Public Information Evening.
Members may wish to attend one of the information evenings at DLSP.
Bective Men’s shed
The ‘Bective Men’s Shed’ is for those retired members who can give an hour or two on a Thursday to devote to maintenance and development of our premises and for a meet up for tea/coffee. We are keen to develop the rear of the pavilion so that it can be used during the summer months for outside eating/drinking and the group are currently working on this project. The Men’s Shed meets on Thursdays at 12 noon in the clubhouse.
