Both 1XV & 2XV travelled south to Kilkenny RFC last Saturday for Round 3 of the Leinster League.

The 2XV again showing their mettle with all the injuries, unavailability of players and with a little luck should have been rewarded, but unfortunately lost out on full time by a converted try to Kilkenny. Final score Kilkenny 32-26 Bective.
The 3XV had no game last weekend.

Quiet weekend for the Mini’s with no matches last weekend, nonetheless all the teams were training last Sunday for the commencement of their League campaigns next weekend.

Next Monday 10th October ’22 is the ‘’Planning for the Future of Bective Event’’ starting at 6.30pm sharp the Clubhouse Donnybrook. We will be serving refreshments and food from 5.30pm to 6.15pm. This will be an important evening! Please note that the event is an open evening for anyone who has an interest in the future of Bective Rangers FC including members, member’s spouses, past members, Mini’s parents, sponsors, local community etc.

We have a limited number of tickets available to members for the Autumn Internationals:
Ireland v South Africa - Sat 5th Nov @ 5.30pm, prices are €117 for Category 2 & €112 for Category 3
Ireland v Fiji - Sat 12th Nov @ 1pm, prices are €75 for Category 2 & €67 for Category 3
Ireland v Australia - Sat 19th Nov @ 8pm, prices are €112 for Category 1, €92 for Category 2 & €77 for Category 3
Please note that there is a €10 admin fee for each pair of tickets.

In relation to the 6 Nations 2023, we are now looking for expressions of interest for the away games:
Wales v Ireland – Principality Stadium, Sat 4 Feb @ 2.15pm
Scotland v Ireland – BT Murrayfield, Sun 12 Mar @ 3pm

Important update: We have just been informed by the IRFU that tickets for the Italy v Ireland game in the Stadio Olimpico, Sat 25 Feb 2023 @ 2.15pm are now being distributed by the Italian Rugby Federation (FIR), therefore, no tickets are available through the club network. Tickets can be purchased directly from the FIR website.
Tesco Community Fund - Support Bective
Bective is included in the current round of the Tesco Ireland Community Fund in Tesco Express Donnybrook, Ranelagh & Rathmines.
What is the Tesco Community Fund? The Tesco Community Fund provides financial support to good causes and community groups that matter most to its colleagues, customers, and communities across Ireland.
So if you’re shopping in any of these stores over the next few weeks, we’d really appreciate it if you'd vote for us using your blue token. Funds raised will go towards the cost of new training kits.
Corporate Golf Outing Sept 2022
The Annual Bective Corporate Golf Day at Foxrock Golf Club was held last Friday. As luck would have it, the rain stopped just before tee off, ensuring a sunny afternoon for great golf.
The winners for the second-year running were Team Mason Wealth comprising Peter Magee, Steve McGettigan, Dave Magee and Justin Ray. In close 2nd place were Team Nicholas O’Dwyer - Jim Oliver, John Butler, Michael Long and James Oliver. Michael Sweeney, Johnny Vaughan, John Kirby and Paddy O’Brien claimed the 3rd prize.
With a spectacular 150 yard shot with his pitching wedge, Brian “Muscles” Conway won nearest the pin while Dave Magee claimed longest drive with a 365 yard drive down the middle of the 13th.
The golf was followed by an excellent meal served by the staff of Foxrock GC. Special thank you to Greg McWilliams coach of the Irish Women’s Rugby Team and Nigel (Ossie) Osbourne for their evening entertainment, finishing off a great day.
Charity Coffee Morning
Congratulations to Mark O’Brien and Sharon Byrne on their successful Hospice Coffee Morning last Sunday, raising over €3,300 for this worthy charity.
Mark and Sharon would like to thank everyone who contributed to the charity, especially the local Donnybrook community, Bective Rangers FC members, Bective Mini’s parents, BLTC, Leinster Rugby management. A special mention to everyone who supported by baking and bringing along all the fabulous confectionary on offer on the morning.
Congratulations to Steve McGettigan who was the winner of a signed Leinster jersey in the raffle held on the day.
