Next home game vs Ashbourne

General Updates

Hello Rangers,

An early season break for 1XV & 2XV last weekend with no matches played in the Leinster League. So the 3XV were left to fly the flag with their Metro Div 8 League match vs St Mary’s RFC on the back pitch on Friday night.

A lively game with plenty of running rugby by both sides. Heading into the final quarter Bective were leading after great tries by Sean Hassett, Col Bathe and Rob Barns. Unfortunately, St. Mary’s never gave up and with a couple of late scores gave the men from Templeogue an unlikely win, just!
Nonetheless, a great performance from the 3XV players and there will be better days to come. Well done to Capt. Col Bathe, coaches Ross Jones & John Bolger.

Final score Bective Rangers FC 21 - St Mary’s RFC 22.

Next match in Leinster League Div 1A
is at home on Sat 15th Oct ‘22
Bective Rangers FC vs Ashbourne,  KO at 3pm

The Minis were in action last Sunday in pretty abysmal weather.
U9’s played over in Coolmine in a very competitive game.
Both the U14’s and the U13’s played on a squally afternoon in Donnybrook against Clontarf and DLSP.

The Bective teams played great rugby but unfortunately on the day against strong opposition, the results didn’t go their way. Still early in the season, so good days ahead for the Mini’s.

Planning for the Future of Bective Event

As you know the above event took place last Monday evening as planned. The event was a huge success with an attendance of more than 100 people, including Mini’s parents, players, coaches, pavilion members, members spouses and sponsors, all with one goal in mind, the ‘Future of Bective’.

Food was available in advance and the event started on time.

The President David O’Donnell, Club Chairperson Jack McEvoy and BarreFitzpatrick welcomed everyone. The evening commenced with a short film about Bective featuring Johnny Sexton. Johnny discussed coming into Bective with his parents and siblings as a Mini’s player, what it meant to him, the importance of the Bective community and the impact the club has made on his career.

The mood was positive as all the participants trooped off to their respective breakout rooms to roll out all their great ideas. On returning to the hall after an hour or so, each table gave a brief update of their ideas. So a great but important evening at the club came to a close, with the President David O’Donnell thanking everyone involved for supporting this event.

So, the work on all the great ideas has begun….more to come.
