Energia All Ireland League Semi-Final

Bective Rangers vs Clogher Valley

Date:  Sat 1st April 2023
Venue:  Coolmine RFC, Ashbrook, Ashtown, D.15
KO:  1pm

General Updates

Captain Colin Jackson and all his 1XV squad have worked incredibly hard this season to win the league for the second year in a row with a game to spare. A fantastic achievement and on Saturday the team are 80 minutes away from another shot at going Senior.

The support at all the matches this season has been amazing. Our opponents on Saturday are the Ulster League winners, Clogher Valley from Fivemiletown in Co Tyrone, who like any rural team in Ireland, have a wide community base, are very vocal and will be travelling to Dublin in large numbers to support their team. This Saturday we need everyone connected with Bective - members, friends, families, Mini’s & Mini’s parents, to travel over to Coolmine RFC to support Bernard and the team both on and off the pitch. The Club would love to see all the Mini’s and supporters wearing the proud Bective colours on Saturday.

The Club is providing free transport to and from the game. Places on the bus are open to all supporters, not just members. Free tea/coffee and croissants will also be available in the Club before we leave. The bus will depart Bective at 11.45am sharp and arrive in Coolmine for 12.30pm. If you need to drive on the day why not park your car in Bective and hop on the bus to the match instead. *Note Kick Off is 1.00 pm.

If you would like to book your place on the bus, contact Emmett Sheridan 086 8510152.

Your Support is key to the Team’s Success

2XV Unfortunately lost out to a very strong Lansdowne XV in the Albert O’Connell Cup on Saturday in Donnybrook. Nonetheless, a very successful season for the seconds having already been crowned League Champions.

3XV The squad have been showing some good form in 2023 and are hoping for a good cup run starting with the O’Connor Cup 1st round on Fri night in Donnybrook.

Mini's Black Tie Dinner

The inaugural Mini’s Ball took place on Saturday 25th of March in the Clubhouse.  Attended by 100 parents and coaches.  The event was a huge success with fantastic food and live entertainment.  Massive thanks to Dave O’Loughlin (Prop Me Up), Vinny Hanlon Catering and Mark O’Brien and his bar team for their great support on the night.  We are looking forward to planning 2024 already!

Congratulations to Louis Magee and Blackrock College after winning the Leinster School's Junior Cup during the week.
