BECTIVE MOURNS THE LOSS OF JAMES LAWLER
Bective Rangers FC regrets to announce the death of Jim Lawler who passed away on 24 Sep after a short illness.
Jim played senior rugby for the club from the early 1970’s to the early 1980’s and will be remembered for his prowess as a powerful prop forward as well as for his popularity off the field, where he embellished many occasions with his good humour, laughter and full-hearted participation. He lived life to the full and along with his brother John, continued the strong connections between Bective and Dunlavin, which included his father Paddy who won six Irish caps in the 1930’s.

JERSEY PRESENTATION
Bective President John Bolger and Paul Hatton presenting the 1st XV the Bective jerseys for the Wicklow game.
So next up our opponents are the 23/24 DIV1B champions Co. Carlow with a later than usual 5.00 pm kick off in Oak Park Carlow.
Like ourselves Carlow lost their first league game last weekend and they will be a formidable team on their own sod. Carlow are always a welcoming club, especially with all the connections between our members. That said, they have been rebuilding over the last few seasons and will be looking to put one over on Bective this Saturday and are expecting a large attendance. Therefore, it is important that we get as many supporters as possible to Carlow on Saturday to support Ben, Capt. Tiarnan and the team.
Remember your support is key to the club’s success!
PS. We will also be streaming the game live with commentary. The link to the live stream will be available on the Bective Supporters WhatsApp Group. We will go live with the stream about 15 minutes before kick-off.
Great news,Bective U20’s play their first match this Friday night on the main pitch in Donnybrook, so why not come down and give a big welcome to all the players?

U13 HOME Suttonians - The U13's played their second grading match at home on Sunday. With a small squad they managed to win the match 43 - 21. They played an excellent 1st half but the second half saw a dogged Suttonians team score 3 quick tries. It was an excellent game played by both sides.

U16 HOME Barnhall - The U16's played at home hosting Barnhall on Sunday. They played some really good rugby but were beaten by a strong Barnhall team.
