Leinster League - Division 1A Champions
Bective won the Leinster League Div.1A last Saturday at Suttonians with another huge performance to take away a bonus point and win the league.
This is a massive achievement by Bernard and Capt. Oisin all the players, coaches, Kit manager and Physio’s and everyone at Bective salutes them on their success.
Their success was achieved by the players consistency all season , especially after not winning the first two games, then going on a run of 11 straight wins , culminating with the bonus point away at Suttonians on Saturday.
Great celebrations were had out in Suttonians after the game with the Cup and Medals being presented by John Walsh LB President to Capt. Oisin and the players on the pitch.
Back in Bective many Rangers were waiting in the Pavilion to welcome back the players and the coaches with the trophy and the celebration’s continued long into the evening .
The team now move on to the All-Ireland Round Robin , effectively now two cup matches away for the prize of AIL rugby for next season 22/23. The draw is not made yet, but the Semi Finals will take place on the 2nd of April and the final on the 9th of April.
Not to be forgotten the 2ndXV (already crowned champions) finished off their League campaign with another win at Suttonians to remain unbeaten all season , a fantastic achievement .
Both teams will take a well earned rest this weekend and be ready for the various cup competitions in the following weeks.
U17’s Played a very strong Seapoint team , while Bective gave it their all it was not to be their day with Seapoint taking the spoils .
U 18.5 had opponents Barnhall on the main pitch but unfortunately due to illness and injuries , the team mostly played on the defensive throughout the game with Barnhall proving the stronger team on the day.
