First XV Game of the New Year
Weekly Newsletter (9 - 15 Jan)
General Updates
Happy New Year. I hope you all enjoyed the break over Christmas.
This weekend sees the resumption of the Leinster League and with six rounds left to go, things are very tight at the top of the table. We are leading the league and are two points ahead of Monkstown and four points ahead of Gorey.
This Saturday we are playing away to Div 2B champions from last season, Boyne RFC at 2.30pm, in the first of a block of three games in a row. This is a crucial phase of the league so please try to come along and support the team.
Hopefully, we will have a big crew of supporters up in Drogheda to cheer on Bernard and the team.
Remember your support is key to the club’s success!
The New Year kicked off with the 2XV & 3XV in action last week. Unfortunately, the 2nds had no luck in the Semi-Final of the Jim Byrne Cup, just coming up short to DLSP at Kilternan last Thursday night.
The 3XV kept up their recent great form in the League with a big win over Emerald Warriors last Saturday at The High School in Rathgar.

Just to mention that Johnny Sexton was presented with the RDS 2023 Honorary Life Membership award at a reception last week attended by our own Bernard Jackman and Chairperson Jack McEvoy. Johnny of course never forgets where it all started for him and during his speech mentioned his fond memories from his days as a Bective Rangers Mini.
The Tesco Community Fund
The Tesco Community Fund provides financial support to good causes and community groups across Ireland. We were included in a recent round of The Tesco Community Fund, and we are delighted to tell you that we have been presented with a cheque for €714 by the Fund.
