Bective stay out in front after 7 try win in Donnybrook

General Updates

A big thank you to the Bective Mini’s who turned out on Saturday to show their support and not only gave the players a rousing send off onto the pitch but also gave the crowd an exhibition of their skills with a short game at half time, Bective’s future is in good hands.

The players responded with a great performance from Capt. Colin Jackson and his team. Playing great rugby in a 7 try bonus point victory over last season’s ‘Provincial Town’s Cup Winners ’ Kilkenny RFC. So, after 10 games played, Bective are leading the league on 41 points from Gorey on 36 points. It was great to see the support the members gave the team on Saturday considering the fixture clash with the Leinster match at the Aviva. The pre-match lunch was well attended and there was a great buzz in the clubhouse after the game.

So the last of our 3 match January schedule takes us up to Ashbourne this Saturday. Previous games between the clubs have been close affairs but Bective are playing with great confidence right now and the players are ready for the challenge.

Hopefully, Bective supporters will travel up to Ashbourne on Saturday to support Bernard and cheer on the team.

Remember your support is key to the club’s success.

2XV. Not to be outdone, another big win for our Seconds as they notched up a 7 try win also over Kilkenny on the back pitch. The team are on a great run now and stay just 5 points behind league leaders Ashbourne, so all to play for on Saturday.

Final Score: Bective Rangers FC 46 – Kilkenny RFC 14
