Bective Win Over Monkstown

Hello Rangers,
The 1XV made a successful start to the season with a hard-fought courageous League win, by beating Monkstown last Saturday in a tremendous match by 20 – 17.
Bective Rangers FC 1XV, led by their Captain Colin Jackson produced a ‘Munster like’ grandstand finish to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat at Sydney Parade. In front of a large crowd and in brilliant sunshine, with conditions perfect for rugby, both teams produced an exciting Leinster League Division 1A classic. Unfortunately, Bective didn’t take away all the spoils as the 2XV unluckily lost out by 30 – 17. Considering the injuries to both the 1XV and 2XV, all credit is due to Captain Sean Geraghty and his team for a great performance.
The 3XV had their game cancelled as Tallaght RFC postponed.
The Minis are training hard for the season ahead, the back pitch is full of Bective jersey’s on Sunday mornings and players and parents are enjoying the extended summer weather.
Important Upcoming Events
Firstly, to mention on Monday evening 10th October ’22 is the ‘’Planning for the Future of Bective Event’’ at the Clubhouse Donnybrook. This will be an important evening, please note that the Event is an open evening for anyone who has an interest in the future of Bective Rangers FC including members, member’s spouses, past members, Mini’s parents, sponsors, local community etc.

The other event happening soon is Friday week 30th Sept. the Annual Bective Corporate Golf Day at Foxrock Golf Club . It is a 4-person team event open to all. Speakers at the post golf dinner will be Bernard Jackman and Greg McWilliams coach of the Irish Women’s Rugby Team.

The 1XV and 2XV will play their 2nd round of league matches versus Boyne RFC on Sat 24th Sept in Donnybrook, including the first home Pre-Match Lunch.
