Ladies Lunch

Weekly Newsletter (11-24 Mar)

GENERAL UPDATES

The 1XV completed their League campaign up at a damp and dark Ashbourne on Sunday with a disappointing loss. Injury plagued Bective had to play second best to an Ashbourne XV fighting for their lives to stay in Div 1A. Falling behind to early tries, the players battled back and looked like pulling the game out of the fire in the 2nd half, but Ashbourne were too strong for brave Bective, running out deserved winners to earn themselves a playoff and a shot at Saturday rugby again next season. Luck and injuries played a big part in Bective’s season, and the players can be very proud of their fantastic performances throughout the campaign notwithstanding qualifying for the AIL Jnr. Cup Final also. To still be in contention for the League down the home straight, says a lot about the commitment and the character of the group. That’s sport - it just wasn’t to be our year.

Always remember your support is key to the team’s success.

Unfortunately, the Bective U17’s League Final was postponed with opponents and venue still to be confirmed.

1st XV:  Ashbourne 36 - Bective 10

2nd XV: Ashbourne 30 – Bective 14
