PLAYER INSURANCE

The Executive Committee of Bective Rangers FC recommends that all persons playing rugby for the Club, should have their own medical/personal injury insurance that covers any medical expenses and loss of earnings.

Although all players are covered by IRFU insurance while playing rugby, this does not cover loss of earnings or medical expenses. The Club strongly recommends that all players organise their own insurance to cover this eventuality.

Details of the cover provided under the IRFU Group Personal Accident Insurance scheme provided for members of the Club can be found in your membership book.

It is the player’s individual responsibility that they have adequate insurance in place. Further information regarding insurance is available by following the link HERE

INSURANCE 2023/2024

As in previous years, the IRFU has negotiated a number of separate insurance facilities with its insurance partners for its affiliated clubs. These are summarised as follows

“Catastrophic injury” Personal Accident cover (Compulsory for all Affiliated Clubs)
Personal Accident cover for individual Clubs including limited Medical Expenses cover (Optional Top-Up)
Personal Accident cover for individual Club Members including limited Medical Expenses cover (Optional)
Club Insurance facility which includes a Rugby on-field Participation indemnity extension under the Public Liability cover. (Only available where the Affiliated Club has their insurance with the IRFU insurance facility through Aviva).

All registered club players are insured under the Catastrophic Injury category, which is funded by the club and subsidised by the IRFU. Players are encouraged to take out additional cover available under this scheme to protect against loss of earnings and medical expenses in the event of serious injury.
