It is with deep sadness that the Club has to inform you of the sudden passing of Barry Henry, who passed away on Friday 17th May.
Barry was a prominent coach within the Mini Rugby section and coached alongside Ben Kealy with very successful mini rugby team from the early ages of under 6/7s to under 14s. In addition, Barry was part of the coaching team for the under 17s team that won the Purcell Cup back in 2015 with players like Mark O’Reilly, Mark O’Brien and Jack Kealy going onto play for the Senior 1XV last season.
Barry’s Mini rugby teams had some notable players who went onto play for their schools in the recent SCT Final between Gonzaga and St. Michaels. These players included his own son Arthur Henry, Jack Barry (Captain) and Frank O’Grady for Gonzaga and Johnathan Fish along with Jack Boyle and Chis Cosgrave who all played for the Bective Mini teams that Barry was involved with.
Our thoughts and condolences are with Barry’s family. He will be greatly missed by the youth section within Bective Rangers FC.
