President’s Message

Dear Member,

It is a great honour and privilege for me to be President of Bective Rangers FC for a second term for the season 2021/22.

I would like to extend a big welcome to all our members, friends, family, supporters and all the visiting teams to Bective this season.

Hopefully the worst of the Pandemic is behind us and we can look forward to a successful season both on and off the pitch. Nonetheless protocols are still in place and we will still need to follow the Government and IRFU guidelines to ensure the safety of our players, members and their extended families as we learn to live with COVID-19 .

As we look forward to the return to rugby I want to wish our Club captain, Oisin Lennon, and all the players a successful and an injury free season.

Let me also wish Director of Rugby/Head Coach, Bernard Jackman, his coaching team, Physio (Keelan McKenna), Kit Manager (Stephen Rattigan), U20s Coaches Manuel Alonso and Ben Kealy, managers, coaches from every level, Senior, Junior and Vets a successful season also.

Michael Flood – Club President 2020 to 2022

Credit to all of you for keeping training going and supporting the players through the difficult circumstances which this pandemic has caused.

I also want to wish Richie Maybury, Head Coach of our Bective Mini’s, the coaches, parents, volunteers and all the players the very best of luck for the coming season. It was heartening to see our Mini’s training all the way through to the end of July culminating in a medal presentation to all the players by Bernard Jackman and Leinster scrum half Nick McCarthy.

May I wish all our Executive members well for the coming season and thank them for all their hard work throughout last season dealing not only with the day to day issues but also with all the complex matters associated with the running of the club. May I pay a special welcome again to our new Club Officers who joined during the season, Chairman Jack McEvoy, Hon. Treasurer Marisa Guerrero and to new Hon. Secretary JJ O’Reilly who replaces David Liddy who leaves the role after many years of dedicated service to Bective Rangers.

Bective is fortunate to have not only an excellent hard working Executive but also a dedicated group of members who volunteer their time to assist the club, we thank each and every one of you.

Bective will have many challenges going forward, most importantly keeping our finances in order and raising funds. As always a debt of gratitude goes to our advertisers, sponsors and members who donate generously, assuring that the club can implement plans for the year ahead. As in previous years fundraising will also be an integral part of the club finances and this season will be no different. I urge all members to continue their support for their club Bective Rangers in these challenging times.

I look forward to seeing you down at the club during the season and watch our teams playing great rugby again.

Best Regards,

Michael Flood
